WHAT WE WANT – THE ROLE
• Perform maintenance duties for assigned buildings and related facilities, furnishings and equipment which include but not limited to performance of carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing repairs and general building maintenance
• Assist with snow removal and de-icing in the winter
• Comply with the guidelines of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and promotes a safe and healthy work environment.
• Maintain tools and equipment for safe and efficient operation and completes necessary logs on all assigned equipment
• Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, literature and technical information related to all aspects of the job
• Assist with special events and other general work orders
• Maintain current knowledge and attends the necessary training to assist with emergency and evacuation procedures (fire, gas leak, water leak, etc.)
• Operate buildings and grounds systems and related equipment
• Stay current on work orders and maintain understanding of operating requirements through frequent review of operating manuals and inspection sheets.

WHAT YOU NEED
• Post-secondary education in related discipline is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years similar work experience is required
• WHMIS certification is an asset
• Skilled in the operation and maintenance of hand tools and equipment
• Collaborative team player with ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize work load
• Fire safety, CPR / First Aid Training is an asset
• Strong customer service skills
• Heavy lifting required
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (cold, heat, rain, etc.)
• Ability to work at heights & confined spaces
• Valid Ontario G Driver’s License

Workplace Requirements:
• On-call emergency response pager required on rotation
• The normal work day is 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Shift work and irregular hours between 5:30 am to midnight with flexibility for Saturday/Sunday shifts is occasionally required. Shifts may vary according to seasonal work and school calendar.
