Applewild School
Overview
Founded in 1957, Applewild School is a junior boarding (grades 4-9) and day (grades PS-9) school located an hour west of Boston. Our highly personalized boarding program offers students from the US and abroad the opportunity to live and learn together as they prepare for secondary school. Our 28-acre campus, surrounded by conservation land and residential neighborhoods, includes three playing fields, a cross-country course, walking trails, and a sloping front lawn perfect for winter sledding. Our dormitories are fully-renovated antique mansions that feature beautiful common rooms, historic details, and bedroom suites. Graduates of Applewild are positioned for personal and academic success at their secondary schools. Ninety percent of our graduates earn admission to their first- or second-choice school. But most of all, Applewild students know who they are and understand what is possible for them as a result of their time here. Our students are able to attain this level of accomplishment through the School's focus on metacognition – the ability to think about one’s own thinking – throughout all our programs, which empowers students to understand who they are as learners and what they need to be successful. Our metacognitive approach, combined with strong academics, athletics, and arts allows each student to develop to their maximum potential.
