George School
Overview
George School is a Quaker co-educational boarding and day school for grades nine through twelve located in Newtown, PA. Founded in 1893, George School offers a broad curriculum including Advanced Placement (AP) classes and the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program, a rigorous two-year course of study. Students come from diverse backgrounds representing 13 US states and 42 countries. 44% of US citizens are students of color. Quaker values such as tolerance, equality and social justice create a diverse community where academics, sports, arts and service learning share emphasis. The George School Mission Statement: "With Quaker tradition as its touchstone and academic excellence at its core, George School seeks to develop citizen scholars cheerfully committed to openness in the pursuit of truth, to service and peace, and to the faithful stewardship of the earth. We want our students to treasure learning for its own sake and to use it to benefit a diverse world. Above all we want them to 'let their lives speak.'"

Academics
Summary: The mission of our College Counseling Office is to help you find a college that is right for you. It is a student-centered process, grounded in self-reflection. Our experienced and knowledgeable college counselors have all worked in selective college admission offices and will help you and your family navigate the ever-changing world of higher education. Our curriculum begins in your first year when you start to build a relationship with the College Counseling Office and you and your family have access to Cialfo. Over your four years at George School, you will attend a series of workshops and seminars that will help you navigate all the components of the application process–from completing the application and writing your essay to developing test-taking strategies and applying for scholarships and financial aid.
