Student Life
Extracurricular activities are a crucial component of the LAS lifestyle. Our advanced athletic facilities and unique mountain environment allow students to participate in sports that round out their school experience, emphasize the importance of health and personal well-being, and teach them sportsmanship, time management, and determination. Students can participate in sports non-competitively during their activity time after class, or they can try out for a team.

Summer Programs
Summary: The Leysin American School experience doesn’t come to an end when the summer begins—the summer of 2018 saw the launch of our two dynamic summer programs, LAS Summer and LAS Summer Edge. We have been running summer programs since 1949 and our new programs combine all the tried and true elements of camp our students have come to know and love with some exciting, innovative changes.
Department Director: Keri Porter
LAS Summer
Description: LAS Summer allows students to create a program that is tailored to their personal interests and aspirations. Students select one of three Morning Programs and one of our Afternoon Clubs prior to arrival. Programs are followed by afternoon activities and evening socials, each of which let students meet campers from outside their program, be active, participate in team-building activities, and exercise their creativity. Weekend excursions allow students to explore their host country and take in the cultures, sights, and sounds of cities like Geneva, Bern, Montreux, and Lausanne.
