“Pro Summo Bono”. For almost 100 years, ever since Southwestern Academy’s doors first opened in 1924, our vow has been “For the Highest Good”—to become a safe and nurturing learning environment for students all over the world. We provide a supportive and opportunistic environment that allows for academic and social growth and discovery. Southwestern Academy has two campuses with our original campus located in San Marino, California and our satellite campus in Rimrock, Arizona. Both campuses provide a peaceful, safe, and beautiful space for students to thrive, grow, and contribute. Southwestern also offers many athletic opportunities and educational and recreational events/activities on and off campus. Southwestern is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). We are a co-ed, non-profit school. Our college placement is unsurpassed and our graduates’ records in college and beyond are truly extraordinary. Southwestern Academy hopes to continue being a place where international and domestic students are offered numerous Opportunities and Possibilities while being Engaged and Nurtured by our delightful faculty and staff. We are proud of our students and will always be “O.P.E.N.”.

Student Life
Everyone is made to feel welcome at Southwestern. We do not tolerate any discrimination of any kind, everyone is an important member of our community. On our small campuses, all students participate, contribute, and belong. The small class sizes allow students to interact with one another, learn about different cultures and make treasured friendships in the process. In addition, our monthly International Nights showcase the food and culture of a specific region, prepared by the students from that country.

Graduates
Summary: One of our most important goals is to prepare students for college—not simply to be accepted, but also to succeed there. Our students develop solid study habits, time management skills, and self-reliance. Finally, students receive in-depth college counseling to help match them to the right schools based on their needs and interests. Once students have decided on their top school, we’ll guide them through the application process. If any student requires more time to cultivate their skills, a postgraduate year of study is available.
