St. George’s School (BC)
Overview
+(1).jpg)
Founded in 1930 St. George's School is a world-class boys' university preparatory school situated in beautiful Vancouver, BC Canada. We offer a day program from Kindergarten to Grade 12, and an urban boarding experience to students from Grade 8 - 12. The school offers a diverse curriculum including 100+ courses, 24 AP subjects, 50+ clubs, and 35+ sport options. Our Core Values—empathy, humility, integrity, respect, responsibility and resilience—are integral to every boy’s experience. With our mission to inspire our students to become fine young men who will shape positive futures for themselves, their families, and the global community, we have a strong emphasis on character development beyond academics. We graduate fine young men who are able and willing to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world. We use approaches that validate the unique learning styles of boys, and for over 90 years, we have seen first-hand the profound effect that a boys’-centered education has on our students. Our students are consistently shown how to apply learning in real life, problem-solving contexts as they seek authentic connections between their school life and the real world. Each year, we graduate about 150 students who receive around 700 university acceptances from top universities in Canada, USA, and overseas, and with over $2 million offered in scholarships. Our students are encouraged to find a love of learning and their own voice, while simultaneously developing their independence, connectedness to the world, and sense of belonging within it.

Graduates
Summary: The University Counselling office provides a wide range of support services for students and their parents including classroom seminars (Planning Transitions) on the university admissions process, user accounts on Naviance (our virtual "one stop shopping" counselling office), university information evenings, individual, family, and group advising, continuous communications through email, hosting university visits, and several other support options. Through a systematic approach beginning in Grade 10, students are challenged to confront their own assumptions about themselves (self reflection), as well as those about the universities they might be considering.
