The Webb Schools (CA)
Overview
Unexpected connections spark curiosity. That's what UNBOUNDED LEARNING is all about -- and it starts with an innovative curriculum that inspires students to think independently; work, learn and lead collaboratively; and communicate effectively. Designed by our faculty, Webb's unique and rigorous college preparatory curriculum blurs the lines between traditional disciplines. Along the way, students learn the value of curiosity and an open mind. The humanities core, for example, lies at the intersection of English, literature, art, history and more. Freshman science finds common ground with paleontology, biology and modern genetics, and sophomore science integrates chemistry and physics. Our mathematics program builds skills, not in isolated units, but by presenting real-life problems best solved by drawing on multiple branches. Nestled in the foothills of Claremont, California, just 30 miles from Los Angeles, Webb's location gives students access to powerful academic partnerships as well as unlimited cultural and social opportunities throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. Through this mix of unbounded academics, campus community, location and partnerships, Webb changes the lives of our students. It's an impact so great that Webb is just one of four independent high schools to receive a donation of $100 million or more in our nation's history.

Arts & Athletics
Summary: Unlike a standard high school, where only some students pursue the arts or compete in team sports, Webb is committed to having every student participate in both our arts and athletics programs. By asking students to take risks and explore new things, they come to discover their talents and passions.

Graduates
Summary: Webb knows colleges and how to match students with opportunities, whether it’s a small, select liberal arts college, an Ivy League school, or a large university. Our placement results speak for themselves. Each year, 90% of the graduating class attends a college ranked in the top 10% (based on data from U.S. News & World Report on 1,600 accredited 4-year colleges and universities in the U.S.). Furthermore, 100% of those who apply are admitted to a selective four-year college or university.
